Microsoft corp is set to lose a large Windows desktop contract with the German governemnt to Linux and open-source software. The city of Munich has chosen Linux and OpenOffice.org productivity suite for its 15,000+ desktop systems.

Microsoft has announced the iLoo — a PortaJohn that allows users to surf while umm.. ‘taking care of business’.

According to this article on C|Net, the company is using England as a testbed.

I think Microsoft has officially created the worse idea ever.

There are some rumblings that the new iPods, released on the 28th of April, have the capability to record audio.

According to ipodding.com, in the diagnostics mode, there are options for recording. Infact, they claim with the supplied earbud headphones, under the diagnostics, you can actually record a 6 second segment and play it back.

I’ll be interested after Apple official announces recording support to see exactly what it offers. It could definitely be a nice, small recording device for a variety of situations (lectures, daily note taking device, recording practice sessions with the band, etc…) — If it is as easy as clicking record and having the recording go directly to an MP3, that would umm.. totally rock.
